Oscoda County, MI — March 29, 2023 — Love in the Name of Christ (Love INC) of Oscoda County is currently seeking donors and participants for its _____Annual Triathlon taking place on June 10, 2023, with registration and check-in at 8 a.m., beginning at 9 a.m. at the Boat Launch above the spillway at Mio Pond, and culminating in Boney Park in Fairview. (See attached map.) Individuals or teams may register at www.RunSignUp.com. “This exciting event brings in folks from all over the state, other states, and even international participants; and it’s just getting better and better every year,” said Jan Schleicher, chairman of the Triathlon. Marie Sellers is planning a delicious taco/nacho/salad bar for this year’s event, along with some wraps for any non-spicy palates. Volunteers will also be needed for the many, many tasks that go into running such a large event.
Love in the Name of Christ mobilizes churches in Oscoda County to meet needs and transform lives and our communities. While they are the “first response, front-line” ministers to neighbors in need, most of their service is connecting them to those ministries and agencies that can best meet those needs. “Fundraisers like the Triathlon are a significant part of our general support, helping to keep the lights on and pay a few small salaries so we can continue to do what we do,” said Laurie Diller, Love INC’s executive director. “We look forward to everyone’s support and welcome one and all to come out and cheer these athletes on to victory!”
