Bearded Vinyl
Starting as a friendship thirteen years ago at the Masonic Temple in Lewiston, Greg Clark and Jay Osburn have created a growing graphic design company, Bearded Vinyl. Bearded Vinyl has been in business for seven years and services a steady customer base resulting from hard work, dedication, and teamwork.
Where It All Began
Greg's journey into entrepreneurship began with a landscaping and lawn care business. In his effort to establish a distinct brand identity and create visual assets, he joined forces with Greg to tackle the design and vinyl needs of the business. With modest resources — a vinyl cutter, a card table, and a dated computer — they set out to make their mark.
Business Today
The Bearded Vinyl team has embraced the local culture, fostering an open and welcoming atmosphere saying that, "If it's not fun, it's not worth doing". This motto permeates everything they do, ensuring that both clients and community members feel valued.
As Bearded Vinyl's business continues to thrive, Jay and Greg are expanding their capabilities by investing in additional equipment and advanced technology. This strategic move allows them to enhance their service offerings and maintain high quality standards. From custom wrapping cars and boats to designing and printing camp shirts for the local football team, Greg and Jay fulfill a diverse array of community needs. Their commitment to excellence and innovation ensures that Bearded Vinyl remains a trusted partner for both individuals and businesses alike in Lewiston and surrounding communities.
Where They Come From
Greg's familiarity with Lewiston's up-north lifestyle stemmed from his lifelong residence in the area. For him, the rural environment and community were integral to his upbringing and daily life. Jay, originally from the Midland area, was also accustomed to a rural environment. Despite never having visited Lewiston, Jay decided to take a leap of faith, purchased a nearby cabin, and relocated making Northeast Michigan his home. This bold move was driven by Jay's appreciation for rural settings and desire to embrace the Northern Michigan lifestyle.
Community and Culture
Greg and Jay share a deep appreciation for the relaxed pace of life in Lewiston. They find comfort in the culture of the Northeast, where people are known for their friendliness and genuine concern for their neighbors. This supportive environment not only aligns with their personal values but also enhances their sense of belonging in Lewiston. The warmth and camaraderie of the community contribute to their overall satisfaction and well-being, both personally and professionally.
One of the distinctive features of Bearded Vinyl is its open-door policy, which invites people in not just for business transactions but also for casual conversations and catching up. This open and friendly approach reflects the Northeastern culture they value, characterized by warmth, hospitality, and genuine interest in others.
Bearded Vinyl’s story is a testament to the power of friendship, perseverance, and community spirit. What began as a modest venture in a small workspace has blossomed into a thriving business, thanks to the hard work and dedication of Greg Clark and Jay Osburn. Their deep connection to Lewiston, coupled with their commitment to creating a welcoming and engaging atmosphere, has not only established Bearded Vinyl as a cornerstone of the local business landscape but also as a symbol of genuine community involvement. As they continue to expand their capabilities and enrich their services, Greg and Jay remain steadfast in their mission to contribute positively to their surroundings, proving that a shared vision and dedication can lead to remarkable achievements.
