Free Fishing Weekend in Michigan

Two days twice a year, families and friends can enjoy one of Michigan’s premier outdoor activities, Michigan Fishing, for FREE! Upcoming Free Fishing Weekend dates for 2025 are: February 15 & 16,  and  June 7 & 8, 2025. All fishing license fees will be waived for two days. Residents and out-of-state visitors may enjoy fishing on both inland and Great Lakes’ waters for all species of fish. All fishing regulations will still apply. A Recreation Passport will NOT be required for entry into state parks and boating access sites during Free Fishing Weekends. Free Fishing Weekend on  June 7 & 8, 2025 is held in conjunction with “Three Free” weekend, where residents and nonresidents can grab a fishing rod, ride the off-road trails and visit state parks and boating access sites – all free of charge.
